Agreement Costing $125 Million Signed

Kabul (BNA) The agreement on grant aid of USD125 million of World Bank was signed yesterday at the Finance Ministry.
This grant is planned to be used for improving the status of the remote roads, the aim of the aid is financing projects for improving, maintenance of second degree and third degree roads, building of bridges, support to capacity building activities and reconstruction of rural infrastructures and government foundations.
Dr. Mustafa Mastor Deputy Minister of Finance said that of this aid over 80% of Afghans will benefit in rural regions and that building of the foundations is necessary for economic growth and welfare of the rural people.
Wais Barmak Minister of Rehabilitation and Rural development and Najibullah Ouzhen Minister of Public Works also talked on the role of roads towards welfare of the people and their healthy growth.
Chief of the World Bank in Kabul reiterating on the support of the World Bank in reconstruction of rural regions said reconstruction of rural infrastructure has so far through about marked changes in the life of the rural people.
