Pakistani Legislator Calls For Expulsion of Taliban, Haqqani Leaders

Kabul (BNA) A Pakistani influential parliamentarian, Wais Ahmad Khan Leghari, who is the head of commission on foreign affairs in Pakistan’s parliament, has called upon Islamabad to expel the leaders of Taliban and Haqqani network from the country and hand them over to Afghanistan.
President Ghani has reportedly in a letter sent to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif demanded the closure of Taliban sanctuaries in Pakistan and taking practical step towards stabilizing security in Afghanistan. wais Ahmad Khan Leghari, according to media reports has said if Pakistani government is serious towards stabilizing peace in Afghanistan it has to respond positively to President Ghani’s letter and in the first step hand over the leaders of Taliban Shura or council to the Afghan government and thus demonstrates its commitment and good wishes towards peace process in Afghanistan.
Earlier, a Pakistani serving senator and former interior minister Rahman Malik alleged that Mullah Fazlullah, the leader of Pakistani Taliban has been living in Afghanistan and demanded his expulsion, a claim rebuffed by Kabul as baseless.
