Electoral Reforms A Joint Commitment of Afghanistan, Int’l Community: CE

Kabul (BNA) The chief executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in meeting with European Union ambassador to Afghanistan here yesterday exchanged views on matters pertaining mutual interests including good governance and security situation in the country.
Both sides in the meeting stated that improving security and political situation is the joint need of national unity government and its international partners.
Terming booting democracy as a main basis for strengthening relations between Afghanistan and its international partners, both sides stressed for bolstering democracy in the country.
The chief executive also noted that the commission for electoral reforms would soon begin its work and with inception of the work of the commission, the decision about the fate of the national assembly will be held; otherwise the national assembly would continue to work till holding parliamentary and district councils’ elections.
Dr. Abdullah also lauded the appointment of Mrs. Anisa Rasouli as member of the Supreme Court.
In the meeting the ambassador of European Union hailed the appointment of Mrs. Rasouli to the apex court as a good omen and backed it. According to another report, the chief executive received the commander of NATO-led Resolute Support in Afghanistan,   General John F Campbell here in his office yesterday and exchanged views on the current security situation.
