Ghani Khan’s Poetry English Translation Unveiled

Kabul (BNA) In a ceremony held yesterday at Ministry of Information and Culture press hall for reviewing English translation of Ghani Khan’s poems, participants discussed Ghani Khan’s poems, personality and translated collection. Ghani Khan’s 141 poems translated to English by Imtiaz Ahmad Sahibzada and was published in 450-page-book by Agha Khan Foundation.
In the ceremony, Minister of Information and Culture Abdul Bari Jahani called Ghani Khan as an extraordinary poet of Pashto language and literature, regarding translation of his poems to English as significant for both languages and art of Ghani Khan. In the ceremony, poet and writer academician Sulaiman Layeq, advisor to President on cultural affairs Asadullah Ghazanfar, minister of borders and tribal affairs Mohammad Gulab Mangal and the ministry’s deputy Abdul Ghafoor Liwal, Ustad Najib Manali and Ustad Habibullah Rafi spoke related to Ghani Khan’s poems, personality and published collection.
Speakers in the ceremony focused on poetry of Ghani Khan through various dimensions, stressing that such effort should be made in regarded with Ghani Khan’s remained poems and other poems of Pashto language. Ghani Khan’s grandson attending the ceremony praised MoIC and considered the ceremony as an honor for his grandfather and Imtiaz Ahmad Sahibzada.
