US To Invest On Power Generation In Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) The USAID will fund a four years project in northern Afghanistan at a cost of $125 million for development of Sheberghan gas extraction that the goal is digging and rebuilding of gas wells and generation of power energy from gas.
The USAID hosted in Abu Dhabi, UAE the first conference of changing of Afghanistan gas to power energy which was held in coordination with Afghanistan ministry of mines and petroleum. The USAID, US commerce department and ADB organized this conference for growth of interest and attraction of international private sector investments for development of national gas infrastructures in north of Afghanistan particularly in gas refinery and generation of power energy.
The Afghan senior officials Shafiqullah Shahrani from the MoMP and Mirwais Alami commercial director of Afghanistan Brishna co attended this conference. But according to spokesman of the MoMP Rafi Siddiqi, no one attended this conference from Afghanistan.
