Accompanied by Balkh Governor Atta Mohammad Noor and other civil and military officials, the chief executive after meeting the generals and leading commanders of the corps and hearing the reports about the preparation of the national army in defending the country, said recent security incidents in some parts of the country has caused concerns among the citizens. However, the chief executive assured that the national security forces are capable enough to foil the enemies’ malicious designs, saying the government of national unity is hopeful that each personnel of the national security forces from general to soldier has the responsibility to defend with a sense of national unity. The chief executive who visited Mazar-e-Sharif city on Tuesday also attended a public meeting and answered the questions of people with the performances of the national unity government.
Speaking on the occasion, governor Noor expressed concerns over deteriorating security situation in the Northern provinces. “Increasing security problems in the north doesn’t mean our inability in tackling the issue. We are able to deal with and remove security concerns in Balkh and diminish enemies in adjoining provinces, but we are waiting the doctrine of the government for stabilizing security,” governor Atta said in his address. Governor Atta said he supports the government of national unity but added that lack of political agreement which led to the formation of the government, over the past nine months has added to the suffering of people. He also expressed his support to the peace process, saying he welcomes embracing justice and honorable peace in the country. Speaking in the gathering, Dr. Abdullah said that since long his wish was the improving living condition of the people of Afghanistan and he would spare no efforts in achieving the goal. He also expressed sorrow over the failure of the government of national unity to act upon its leaders promises given during electoral campaign, adding failure in fulfilling political agreement has hurt the people. Allaying the concerns of people, the chief executive said that the political agreement as a principle won’t be forgotten and warned that any efforts to forget the agreement as the foundation for the work of national unity government would have bitter experience in history.   We do our best to have better future for Afghanistan, the chief executive stressed.
