Human Resources, Infrastructural Sectors Reviewed

Kabul (BNA) In a meeting with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the chair reviewed the situation of infrastructural sectors especially agriculture, irrigation, human resources, education, higher education and health sectors in the country.
The meeting which was held in Arg and attended by officials from the said ministries and international partners, president Ghani, besides thanking the international partners for completion of their projects said, “We should change our projects to bigger one and should have tangible achievements.”
With regard to his meeting with the country’s industrialists and businessmen, the president stated that the government is committed to provide better working conditions for investors.
The president also urged international partners to adopt a policy that could bolster Afghanistan market and strengthen the private sector in the country.
Calling for ensuring security to development projects, the president said he personally inspected the security situation of Aynak copper mine during visit to Logar province.
On government policy about wheat, the president stated that the government would continue to support farmers in a strategy that could ensure construction of strategic go downs and checking mismanagement in agricultural products.
President Ghani also noted that nutrition of children is a serious problem and must be reviewed.  At the meeting the officials from USAID, World Bank, British overseas development program, Japan, Germany and European Union briefed the president about their programs on infrastructural sector and human resources and appreciated government’s reform programs and focusing to ensure transparency in contracts and ensuring coordination with financers of the projects.
