Senate Commissions Debate Several Issues

Kabul (BNA) The commissions of Senate in their sessions discussed variety of issues yesterday, BNA reported.
In its session the commission for national economy and budget under Mawlawi Abdul Wahab Orfan focused on the construction of new port in Shir Khan Bandar, saying as per the agreement inked in 1387 the port was agreed to be constructed at the cost of 184 million Afghanis within 18 months but five years have passed and only 50 percent of the project has been completed.
It was also decided that the ministry for commerce and industries should stop payment to the company constructing the port unless it completes as per the agreement.
The report of urbanization department of Kunduz province claimed the completion 82 percent of the project was proved wrong.
However, it decided to give five months to the company to carry out its obligation according to the agreement.
The commission after hearing the reports decided a delegation under Sayed Mohammad Sayedi to be assigned to assess the process thoroughly and report it finding to the next session.
