US Continues Its Assistance To Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) Minister of National Defense Besmellah Mohammadi met with deputy special envoy of the US for Afghanistan and Pakistan.
At this meeting issue pertaining to security of Afghanistan and the region, development of national army, preparedness of Afghan forces in respect to transition of foreign forces to the Afghans, the successes of the national army in struggle against insurgency and the role of the neighboring countries in ensuring of security in the region were discussed.
Afghan defense Minister thanked the US for cooperation different spheres and especially in training and equipping of the national army and asked for long-term assistance of the US government to Afghanistan.
The minister noted that all the three phase of the security transition had been successful and now 75% of the security of the country is maintained by the Afghan forces.
The deputy head of US special envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan said that neighbors of Afghanistan should participate for peace, solidarity and ensuring of security in Afghanistan.
He expressed pleasure over the success of the Afghan forces especially the national army in the struggle against terrorism and promised that the US after 2014 will not refrain any cooperation in equipping of the Afghan forces and shall continue its assistance in different spheres.
