US Contributes $77 Million in Assistance to Afghan Refugees in Pakistan

KABUL (BNA): The United States announced a $77 million contribution to the United Nations for Afghan refugees in Pakistan, said Thomas West, the US Special Envoy for Afghanistan.

Thomas West recently visited Pakistan and met with the representatives of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration in Islamabad to discuss the issues that Afghan migrants face in the neighboring country.

It should be mentioned that many Pakistani political observers believe the latest pressure on Afghan migrants is primarily aimed at gaining financial advantages, a method Pakistan often employs.
