UNAMA Discusses Technical Electoral Issues with President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met UNAMA’s Acting Head of Mission, Pernille Dahler Kardel and the UN elections team, a statement from the presidential office said the other day.
According to the statement, the president and UN acting head exchanged views on preparations and technical cooperation on parliamentary and district councils’ elections.
The president also asked UN to technically cooperate with Afghanistan in division of constituencies, the statement added.
Afterwards, for better holding of the elections, Ms. Pernille promised the president to do her best, the statement continued.
Second Vice President, Mohammad Sarwar Danesh, chief Justice and head of Supreme Court, Sayed Yousuf Halim, Mohammad Hanif Atmar and a number of other government officials were also present in the meeting.
