Hanif Atmar Meets Raheel Sharif

Kabul (BNA) Presidential advisor in national security, Mohammad Hanif Atmar met the Pakistan chief of army staff General Raheel Sharif here the other day, BNA reported.
In the meeting, the Pakistan army chief described formation of national unity government as a positive step towards prosperity in Afghanistan and congratulated it to the Afghan nation.
Matters pertaining to mutual interests including improving relations between the two neighboring states, improving security in the region and fighting terrorism came under discussion. 
Atmar said that the national unity government believes in continuation of talks between Kabul and Islamabad, noting the only way for both the countries to have constructive relations is to respect each other’s interests. General Sharif, besides acknowledging the remarks of Atmar stressed for close cooperation between the two countries in fighting terrorism and boosting peace in the region.  According to another report, acting defense minister General Bismillah Khan Mohammadi in meeting with Pakistan chief of army staff General Sharif exchanged views on matters pertaining mutual interests between the two countries.
