SAKO to Invest $100 Million in Logar Cement Mine, Creating 2,000 Jobs

 

KABUL(BNA): In a significant developement to boost Afghanistan’s economy, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has announced a major investment of $100 million USD by SAKO Afghan Company in the Logar cement mine.

The ministry’s press office stated today, May 28th, that Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar,  the acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, held a promising meet with Rasool Khan, the head of SAKO Afghan, and their Chinese partners in his office.

In this meeting, the discussion centered around the numerous investment opportunities in Afghanistan’s mineral resources, as well as the overall security situation and the favorable business environment in the country.

The head of SAKO Afghan expressed his interest in investing in Afghanistan’s mines, particularly in the Logar cement mine, stating that this $100 million USD investment will create job opportunities for over 2,000 people.

This initiative was warmly welcomed by the acting minister and pledged the necessary cooperation and additional facilities to ensure its success.
