Kabul (BNA) Ashraf Ghani the president of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in the meeting of the senior authorities of donor countries emphasized that Afghanistan is committed to bring changes in its infrastructure and the international partners should comprehend the political, security and economic problems of the country.
Focusing on the issue BNA commentator writes Afghanistan hosted the senior officials of donor countries or SOM. In the meeting, Afghanistan reported about its commitments made during Tokyo and London meetings and its achievements in that regard. Meanwhile, the donor countries assessed their previous commitments to Afghanistan.
In Tokyo and London meetings, the international community pledged their conditional commitments to support Afghanistan to improve its economy and ensure security in the country after pull out foreign troops from the country. This Afghanistan should fight seriously against corruption, endeavor for the capacity building of state officials, enforce laws for revenues, bring in its control the sources of income, and seriously work for restoring stability in to the country.
The Islamic republic has made its best to implement its commitments made in Tokyo and London. As president, Ghani says, the Agenda that the Unity Government of Afghanistan presented in London conference was not just a document but was a charter that determined the reconstruction and revival of the country.
If we impartially assess, evaluate the activities and achievements of Afghan government, it already fulfilled parts of its commitments. A great sum of the looted money from Kabul Banked has returned to the bank, for supervising the main contracts established the National Procurement Committee, reviewed the paying system of tax and other revenues of the country, amended the bureaucratic system of administration and successfully managed to rein the terrorists and extremists and finally improve the capacity of security forces.   After the withdrawal of international forced from the country, the Afghan security forces proved that they could defend the territorial integrity and national sovereignty independently and armed insurgent who came from the other side of the border have no the capability and courage to fight face to face with Afghan forces.
The Afghan state became ready for accountability for international community while has taken effective measure for self-sufficiency in various fields of security and economy.
According to learned politicians one cannot say that Afghanistan has fulfilled all its commitments to international community but ignorance to the achievements will be injustice. It should mention that the unity government of Afghanistan has started its mission when the combat forces of NATO have left the country and international community decreased its financial aids to the country. The armed opposition supporting by terrorist networks tried their best to topple the government or at least decrease its influence among the people. Therefore, the Afghan people seriously expect the international community to adopt a position regarding to Afghanistan according the realities prevailed in the country.
The Afghan people do not want to be a burden on the shoulder of international community forever but wish them not spare their financial support of Afghan people and government in short term to rebuild their country and cooperate in ending the foreigners’ interventions in the country.
If there, were no foreign interventions and imposed war to the country, the Afghans know the shortest way of access to their economic objectives and can change their country in the center of commercial activities and regional cooperation.    Abdul Khalil Minawee
