Turkey’s 500-Ton Aid Shipment Arrives in Herat

KABUL (BNA): The eighth aid shipment from Turkey for the assistance of earthquake-affected people has arrived in Herat province.

The shipment was handed over to the Islamic Emirate in Herat in the presence of the Turkish envoy to Afghanistan.

According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Economy, 300 tons of this aid package are intended for earthquake victims, and another 200 tons will be distributed to Afghan families recently returned from neighboring countries to Herat province.

The aid includes food, clothing, medicines, hygiene items, blankets, and tents, as stated by Mawlawi Ahmadullah Muttaqi, the director of information and culture in Herat.

The Turkish ambassador, present at the Torghundi port, expressed Turkey’s commitment to providing further assistance to the people of Afghanistan.

The assistance is expected to be distributed by the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) to earthquake-affected people and Afghan returnees.
