Transit road Development Project Started from Torkham Crossing

Jalalabad (BNA) Officials proclaimed the start of the development of the Torkham transit road project.

With the start of this project, another transit road is developed for commercial caravans.

This road will be constructed with asphalt within an area of ​​one thousand and one hundred meters in the current transit road.

Mawlawi Yar Mohammad Mohammadi, director of public work of Nangarhar department told BNA that with the construction of the second road, the transit of commercial goods to Pakistan and vice versa to Afghanistan will be normalized and overcrowding of trucks will be prevented.

Ahmad Gul, a truck driver who transports goods between Afghanistan and Pakistan, praised the efforts to build a second road at the Torkham crossing, mentioning the road will much helpful for their transportation jobs.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan will spend ten million Afghanis to build this road.

The Torkham gate crossing in the east of the country is Afghanistan’s largest commercial border with Pakistan.

The mentioned crossing border witnesses, dozens of commuters on a daily basis from sides countries Afghanistan and Pakistan
