Journalist Delegation Calls On VP Danesh, Demands Finalizing Code of Conduct For Media Operations

Kabul (BNA)  A number of members of delegation Association of pleading for justice and immunity for Afghan Journalists called on the Second Vice-President, Sarwar Danesh and exchanged views on finalizing the code of conduct for establishment and operations of media outlet in the country.
Work on the subject has been continuing over the past two years with the cooperation of the ministry for information and culture, ministry for communication and information technology, finance ministry and the ministry for justice with participation of journalist associations. The drafted plan has been sent to Presidential Palace to discuss it in cabinet meeting but its fate still unknown. In the meeting with Vice-President Danesh which was attended by deputy for publication of the ministry of information and culture, Sayeda Muzjgan Mustafawi, president of the immunity committee for journalists and Fahim Dashti the coordinator of journalist group for justice, the Vice-President assured to take the issue in the meeting of cabinet. Matters relating to the privileges including pension, insurance and job security of journalists working with media outlets were also discussed.
