Mines New Draft Law Discussed

Kabul (BNA) The mines’ new draft law was discussed in a meeting chaired by Second Vice-President Sarwar Danesh and attended by officials of Ministries for Mines and Petroleum, Justice and National Procurement Commission (NPC), Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) reported on Saturday.
The draft law has been provided by a joint team consists of Ministries of Mines and Petroleum, Finance, Justice and NPC, according to the agency.
At the outset, Second Vice-President thanked the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum and its partner administrations for their efforts on providing the draft law and said the draft had been arranged with a proper legal literature and better than the past one which would legally and technically provide the ground for more facilities particularly in term of contracts, BNA added. Reporting about the new draft law, acting minister of mines and petroleum Narges Nihan said the draft law has been provided with efforts made by her ministry and in consultation with private sector representatives and other civil entities, the agency continued. The main aims of the mines’ new draft law include affairs management related to development and effective use of mineral resources, management of exploration activities, management of minerals’ sector development and many other related points. After discussions, the meeting decided that after noting reformative views and suggestions shared by the session’s members, the draft law to be once again reviewed in consultation with experts and other related civil entities and to be delivered to the justice ministry for legal processing.
