Kabul (BNAS) President Hamid Karzai held meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Marliano Rakhoi in Presidential Palace yesterday.
In the meeting matters pertaining mutual interests including enhancing cooperation came under discussion.
The Spanish Prime Minister, Besides conveying that country’s king good wishes and salutations to President Karzai, saying Spain wished to remain in Afghanistan beyond 2014 and continue its support to Afghans.
The Prime Minister noted that Spain during its presence in Badghis and Herat over the past 10 years did its best to improve the living condition of people’s.
He also stated that Spain is ready to help Afghanistan in the fields of solar system, irrigation, construction and railways and wants to invest in these sectors.
Expressing his gratitude over Spain’s contribution to Afghanistan over the past decade, p[resident Karzai noted that Afghans would welcome Spanish investment in Afghanistan.
He also said that the communication companies have 18 million subscribers today. The president also briefed Spanish Prime Minister on the coming elections to be held in 2014, saying the government would do its best to ensure transparency in the elections and enable Afghans to elect their present.
