Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman Visits Pakistan for Official Discussions

KABUL (BNA): Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman has begun an official visit to Pakistan, where he was warmly received in Islamabad by his counterpart, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif.

This visit comes on the heels of a recent trip by Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Munir, to Riyadh, where he engaged in discussions with top Saudi military officials.

During his visit, General Munir met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss ways in which Saudi Arabia could assist Pakistan in addressing its economic challenges.

According to reports from Pakistani media, the Saudi Defense Minister’s agenda includes talks on bilateral relations, regional dynamics, and global affairs with Pakistani authorities.

It is expected that Islamabad will once again seek Saudi financial aid to bolster Pakistan’s currency reserves, building upon the assistance previously provided by Riyadh through the deposit of billions of dollars into Pakistan’s central bank to enhance the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
