“No Meddling Should Be Allowed In Security, Defense Sectors,” President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, in a meeting held at the presidential palace the other day, with the senior security and defense forces’ officers hailed their efforts, a statement from his office said.
The president according to the statement hailed the security and defense forces efforts to eliminate the militants in different points of the country and thanked the international partners’ cooperation and support to the country’s security forces, particularly in the Warsaw Conference. He said 2016 was the year of military and the country’s security troops could foil all strategic plots of the enemies. The president said he has no doubt on the country’s forces victory, as definition between foe and friends was clear. “Any one takes arms against the system is our enemy and should be eliminated.” According to the president, the next four-year plan would bring reforms in the security force and change in force use equation, a plan would help the country get developed and stabilized.
“This is not an internal war as it might have been ended if was a civil war. Now, we are in the fight phase of fighting international terrorism,” the president told the officers. The president instructed the ministry of interior to provide the list of those officers who are expected to be promoted and emphasized that no interference should be allowed in the security and defense forces. President Ghani promised that the facts behind the military hospital would soon be released as researches were continued in this field. According to another report, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Abdullah, Abdullah asked the security forces not to allow any political and grouping activities within them, his office said in a statement the other day. At the meeting held in the ministry of defense headquarter on Wednesday, the CE said Afghanistan has experienced a hard and challenging security year, but the enemy failed to reach their targets. He also said the country’s leadership has distinguished definition between foe and friends and those fighting against the system is the enemy of the Afghans, said the statement.
He blamed the Taliban for any destructive and criminal activities being launched by other terrorist groups, as he said the Taliban has provided ground for their activities in the country. The CE instructed the security institutions for further coordination between the forces and thanked the international partners, particularly the Resolute Mission (RS) for extending more cooperation with the security forces of the country and called it promising.
