NANGARHAR (BNA): Pakistani military, once again, closed the Torkham gate for forms of traffic from and to Afghanistan, local officials said.
The gate was closed after Pakistani forces, through a crackdown, demanded visas and passports from Afghan truck drivers.
A local correspondent of Bakhtar News Agency in Nangarhar reports that the gate has been closed to commercial caravans since this morning.
The director of Information and Culture in Nangarhar province stated that Pakistan closed the Torkham gate, but efforts to reopen it are ongoing.
Dozens of trade caravans on both sides of the Torkham gate are stranded, with no passage between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Pakistani military has repeatedly closed the Torkham gate to both commercial and passenger vehicles.
