Outsiders Should Not Impose their Demands on Afghans: Russia

KABUL (BNA): The Russian envoy at the United Nations has emphasized that aliens should not impose their demands on Afghans.

Anna Oustin Niewa, the deputy representative of Russia at the UN, made these remarks after the recent session of the UN Security Council titled Engaging with the Islamic Emirate and Comprehensive Integration of Afghanistan.

Following the session, a proposed resolution by Japan and the United Arab Emirates was approved, with Russia and China abstaining from voting.

After the resolution’s approval, Anna Oustin Niewa, the deputy representative of Russia at the UN, stated that imposing conditions and demands on others in Afghanistan yields reverse results and has sorrowful consequences.

She continued to say that many elements of this resolution reflect the general approaches of regional players towards Afghanistan.

However, Russia emphasizes the need for patient and comprehensive consultations with the Islamic Emirate, and a thoughtful evaluation to attach importance to the response of the Islamic Emirate.
