Number of Tourists Increase in Herat

HERAT (BNA) Officials at the Herat Department of Information and Culture say that since the government of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan came to rule, tourists from various countries, especially Britain, India, Canada, Arab countries and neighboring countries, have traveled to the province for tourism.

Abdul Jabbar Noorzaei, General Manager of Herat Museum, told BNA, Herat National Museum is the second in the country and started its activity in 1302 and has recently registered tourists from different countries.

According to him, the museum has 3,000 symptoms which separated 474 of that puts to exhibitions for visitor in the hall of the museum saying they have 250 monitoring minimum in their archive.

Noorzai also called on the Ministry of Information and Culture to relocate the museum, equip it with CCTV cameras, delivery cameras and professional staff to preserve, maintain and cleanness, adding that the place sometimes provides oxidation, which causes muonium.

He said that standard space should be considered for museums.

Noorzai said: “The symptoms in the Herat Museum belongs to the date back to pre-Islamic times and are from the Sassanyan period, Western Greece, Koshanyans, Taherians, Saffaryans, Ghaznawyans, Ghoryans, Saljukyans, and from the contemporary period in that museum.”

It is worth mentioning that the symptom in the Herat Museum include: stone, metal, leather, pottery, tile, copper and glass symptom, some of which are between 2500 and 2700 years old.

Meanwhile, in the first days of the rule of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Qala-Ekhtarauddeen (Ekhtaraudeen Castle) Fortress and Herat Museum were open to visitors for two days free of charge, which had nearly 5,000 visitors.
