Nimruz Governor Urges Use of Afghan Currency in Markets

ZARANJ (BNA): In a bid to boost the value of the Afghan currency, the governor of Nimruz province, Sheikh Mohammad Qasim Khalid, announced a ban on transactions in foreign currencies in local markets in the province.

The announcement was made during a meeting with local traders, industrialists, and guild officials on Sunday.

Khalid said that anyone who violates the ban will face legal action and urged the business community to support the national currency.

He also praised the efforts of the traders, investors, and industrialists who pledged not to use foreign currencies in their transactions.
The meeting was part of a campaign to promote the use of the Afghan currency and prevent the depreciation of its exchange rate.
