Britain To Continue Cooperation With Afghanistan

Wednesday, January 18, 2012
Kabul (BNA) Britain will continue its assistance to Afghanistan, writes Guardian Newspaper.
The international center for strategic studies of Britain says that Britain will continue its aid as Afghanistan is unable to pay the salaries of its 400,000 national army till 2020 and even up to 2025.
It is said that the overall cost of keeping the national army is estimated at USD 8 billion annually and presently the US is providing almost 90% of this cost and it is expected that other NATO countries will also share this cost.
The NATO civil envoy to Afghanistan has told the Royal United Institute Service that the US strategic cooperation with Afghanistan has its basic importance for the future of Afghanistan.
The report adds that if the US attacks on Iran all these optimism will foil, as Iran in response will increase its support to the Taliban and other radical groups.
