MoPH Reports 221 New Covid-19 Cases, 6 Deaths

Kabul (BNA) The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Monday reported 221 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,882 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

According to BNA report, the ministry also reported 6 deaths and 323 recoveries from COVID-19 in the same period.

Based on provinces the new cases reported in Kabul (76), Herat (21), Balkh (1), Nangarhar (7), Baghlan (9), Faryab (1), Helmand (17), Maidan/Wardak (18), Badakhshan (6), Kunar (3), Laghman (6), Khost (5) and Samangan (2).

The ministry says the cumulative total of known COVID-19 cases is 63,819, the total number of reported deaths is 2,751 and the total number of recoveries is 55,009.

So far, 432,676 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 6,059 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to worldometers.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 3,380,350 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is 163,111,260, according to Johns Hopkins University.
