Kabul (BNA) Khoshhal Khatak had been the founder of Pashtu literature, President Ghani said during an international research-scientific seminar held in cooperation with Sciences’ Academy and Kabul University to remember Khoshhal Khatak, BNA reported.
The Seminar held in Salam Khana Palace where the President while welcoming some guests from Quetta and Khaybar Pakhtunkhwa said, “I thank you for attending in this seminar,”. The President said he has learned a lot from studying Khoshhal Khatak’s poems and works, adding in 1980, he had been studying his works and history for three months. Khoshhal Khatak had studied the text books of his era and besides medicine, mathematics and literature, he had studied religious sciences as well. Khoshhal Khan’s thoughts and works were continuation of Islamic civilization thoughts, the President continued. The President added Khoshhal Khan belongs to all Islamic culture and historically, Khoshhal Khan was the Islamic great civilization’s inheritor. Khoshhal Khan was a poet and artist as like as Shakespeare who besides poetry, was leading his tribe, the President said, adding Mirwais Nika practiced his dreams and Ahmad Shah Baba had done his best to complete that. The President clarified that the government of Afghanistan would start the construction work of Hamid Momand mausoleum who was a classic poet. The President instructed the finance ministry to establish a cultural center in Peshawar’s Afghan Building and make a good place for literature and poetry activities there. During the ceremony, head of Kabul University Hamidullah Farouqi, head of Afghanistan’s Sciences Academy Dr. Zahir Shekib, head of Kabul University literature faculty’s department and presidential cultural advisor Asadullah Ghazanfar donated a pack of Khoshhal Khan’s books to the President.
