On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day and Journalists, the Ministry of Information and Culture expresses its appreciation for the valuable efforts of our dear journalists in the country. Journalism is the foundation of informed societies and plays an indispensable role in ensuring transparency and raising public awareness.

Today, we honor the commitment, courage, and honesty of journalists who strive continuously to report the truth and raise the level of awareness among the beloved people of Afghanistan, within the framework of Islamic and national values.

The Ministry of Information and Culture considers itself committed to supporting press freedom while considering Islamic and national values, and endeavors to provide a safe and conducive working environment for our dear journalists. Considering the various challenges in the media field, simultaneous with technological advancements, including the spread of misinformation and the need for digital literacy, this ministry declares its commitment to continue supporting initiatives aimed at improving media literacy, enhancing a healthy critical understanding of media content, and promoting ethical standards within the media.

To commemorate this day, we invite all esteemed government institutions, media organizations, and the Afghan journalists’ community to participate in fostering a beneficial and powerful media vision.
