President Ghani Meets Ulema Council

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met the other day with the chairman and members of the Ulema Council.
In the meeting that took place in ARG, Maulavi Attaullah Ludin read out the declaration of the Uelma Council.
In the declaration, the Ulema Council called upon all audio-visual as well as print media to broadcast programs consistent with the rulings and virtues of the holy month of Ramadan and avoid programs deemed inappropriate.
Recognizing peace as an order from Allah and His Messenger as well as a vital and fundamental need of the Muslim people of Afghanistan, the Ulema Council called on all respected religious scholars, tribal elders, Mujahideen and civil society leaders to endeavor to ensure peace in the country.
President Ghani thanked the Ulema, who as heirs of the Prophets, have protected the national and Islamic values and guided the nation away from obscurity into the straight path.
The President asked the Ulema Council to continuously preach the values and virtues of peace and invite people to engage in the peace process.
President Ghani reiterated that it is the duty of every true Afghan who wishes his country well to come forward and help ensure peace in the country. The President also reassured that with the launching of big projects there will be more employment opportunities.
