Islamic Emirate Prioritizes Regional Cooperation: Muttaqi

KABUL (BNA) Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate, has expressed the government’s commitment to strengthening regional relations.

During a meeting organized by the Joint Afghan-Iran Chamber of Commerce in Mashhad, Iran, Muttaqi emphasized the Islamic Emirate’s efforts to promote good security, unity, economic growth, and comprehensive cooperation in Afghanistan and the region.

Hafiz Zia Ahmad, Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, relayed Muttaqi’s statements through a tweet on his official account. Muttaqi highlighted the Islamic Emirate’s dedication to enhancing regional cooperation and ensuring the security of both neighboring countries and the wider region.

The meeting, attended by the governor of Khorasan Razavi, Iran, the head of the Afghan embassy in Tehran, the Afghan consul general in Mashhad, as well as Afghan and Iranian traders, allowed Muttaqi to discuss the balanced foreign policy of the Islamic Emirate.

He emphasized the importance of economic opportunities in trade, economy, industry, and agriculture in Afghanistan, encouraging Afghan and Iranian traders to invest in the country while assuring them of the government’s full support.

Muttaqi also underscored the significance of Afghanistan’s transit and communication routes with its neighbors, the region, and the wider world during the meeting.

This further showcased the Islamic Emirate’s determination to foster strong regional connections and maximize the country’s potential.

It is notable that Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi recently visited Iran to participate in a conference addressing the Palestinian issue and held meetings with various Iranian officials, including the Foreign Minister.
