Foreign Affairs Minister Meets Sri-Lankan Non-Resident Ambassador To Kabul

Kabul (BNA) Zarar Ahmad Usmani, Minister of Foreign Affairs yesterday met with Democratic Socialist Republic Sri Lankan ambassador to Kabul.
The Sri Lankan ambassador congratulated Zarar Ahmad Usmani for getting vote of confidence and his appointment as minister of foreign affairs.
Both sides exchanged views and discussed related to bilateral relations between the two countries, education, health, development of human resources, trade and absorption of investment and other relevant issues.
Praising Sri Lanka for cooperation related to opening of Afghanistan embassy to Colombo, Mrs. Usmani said, “Both countries are members of SAARC and have close relations with each other, adding Afghanistan is a suitable place for trade and investment.”
Minister of Foreign Affairs while expressing gratitude of Sri Lankan president for invitation of Afghanistan president to Sri Lanka added, “We hope Sri Lankan Foreign Affairs Minister also visits Kabul and open the embassy to Kabul before President Karzai visits the country.”
The Sri Lankan ambassador while praising Afghanistan for opening the country’s embassy to Colombo said, “We hope the embassy of Sri Lanka will soon reopen in Kabul.”
