President Karzai Meets Parliament Commission Heads

Kabul (BNA) Hamid Karzai, president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with administrative panel and chiefs of various commissions of lower house of parliament.
According to presidential press office report to BNA, at the meeting which was held yesterday afternoon issues related to the opening of Taliban office in Qatar, relation between executive force and parliament and other national key issues were discussed.
The administrative delegation and chiefs of different commissions of lower house strongly condemned the way of opening Taliban’s office in Qatar and declared their support for the Afghan government’s stance in this regard.
They said opening of the office under the name of Islamic Emirate was a clear plot for sabotaging peace process and weakening the government and national unity of Afghanistan.
Praising the recent stance of the lower house in relation of opening Taliban’s office in Qatar, Hamid Karzai asserted that the government had continuously tried the peace process to be an Afghan led process.  Therefore, the government launched consultative national meeting resulted the formingof high peace council.  Emphasizing that the peace process to be followed in Afghanistan under the leadership of Afghans, the president said, “Peace is a holy desire of Afghans and we are continuing our efforts towards maintaining of peace in the country and will not let foreigners make use of the process for reaching their goals.
