President Karzai Calls For Humanitarian Aids To Displaced Families of North Waziristan

Kabul (BNA) Hundreds of families from the Pakistan tribal region of North Waziristan have fled their native areas and have sought refuge in Khost province.
The issue emerged after the Pakistan military launched a massive crackdown and military offensive against the terrorists. President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai has called the Afghan people who have financial capabilities to help the refugees until they are resettled to their own areas. President Karzai offered his appreciation and respects to those Afghans who, so far have provided aids and cooperation to the Pakistani refugees and expressed hope that more aids would reach to them in the coming days.
These days, large numbers of women and children have fled their native towns and have settled in Khost, Paktia and Paktika provinces to save their lives from the ongoing insecurity in the Pakistani tribal regions of North Waziristan. “Dispatching humanitarian assistance to these migrants and their support is the duty of every Afghan,” President Karzai said. I request all my countrymen particularly our wealthy and national traders to provide aids to the families, aids distribution have started in Nangarhar and I hope that this will be initiated in other provinces as well, all government institutions have been assigned the task to make sure that health distribution services and other necessary aids to the displaced families.” Meanwhile, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) has also reported about the cooperation of this body to the displaced families.
“The UN has provided assistance ton thousands of Pakistani  migrants in Afghanistan including foods, water, health services, nearly 9000 Pakistani families have  been settled in eastern provinces of Afghanistan, nine thousand migrants exist in Khost while another 2000 migrants are in Paktia,”  a UNHCR official told media in Kabul. Political commentators have stressed that the Afghan security institution must cautiously dealt with the issue and make sure that the refugees are allowed to enter Afghanistan after registration and identification of their nationality,” Large number of Afghan had sought refuge in neighboring countries particularly in Pakistan during wars and conflicts and still thousands of Afghans live in that country, we hope that our people warmly welcome refugees and deal them kindly and provide them assistance according to their capacities,” political analyst Amir Mohammad said.
A number of citizens have said that people of Afghanistan maintain religious and with support of the refugees according to the financial capabilities. “People of Afghanistan have experience migrations during the imposed war and they feel the pains of homelessness, so now sour charity organizations and people must reach refugees of North Waziristan, local resident Ali said. In the past also, residents of the Pakistani tribal area of North Waziristan settled in Afghanistan’s border provinces to save their lives due to war and instability in their native areas.
