President Karzai Asks Pakistan to Immediately Stop Attacks on Afghan Soil

Kabul (BNA) On the sideline of OIC Summit, President Hamid Karzai met in Mecca on Tuesday with Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan to discuss issues of mutual interest.
In the meeting also attended by Foreign Ministers of both countries, Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta National Security Advisor to President Karzai and Rehman Malik Pakistan’s Minister of Interior, the two sides discussed various issues of mutual concern including the joint fight against terrorism.
Pointing to the rocket shelling from across the Durand line on Afghan soil, President Karzai underscored that those attacks have had an extremely negative impact on both the feelings of the people of Afghanistan and Afghan-Pak friendship and its continuation would not be good for Pakistan.
The President asked Pakistan to immediately stop those attacks on Afghan soil.
Both the leaders decided that a joint Afghan-Pak military delegation be assigned to visit Durand line and fully probe into the recent shelling.
Pakistani delegation also shared with Afghan side their cross-border concerns.
President of Pakistan reassured President Karzai that his government would seriously follow up the rocket shelling issue with Afghanistan’s military delegation as soon as possible.
