Floods Caused to the Death of 11 in the Country

KABUL (BNA) The Ministry of Disaster Management on Wednesday says recent flash floods in 8 provinces have killed 11 people and injured 50 others.

The press office of the Ministry of Disaster Management today, Wednesday issued a statement saying as a result of the floods on Tuesday in 8 provinces of the country, Paktika, Kunar, Laghman, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Takhar, Kunduz, and Faryab, 11 people were killed, 50 people were injured and more than 500 houses and 3500 acres of farmland were destroyed.

According to local officials, 20km of roads were closed and 1,000 livestock were also lost in cause the floods.

Based to initial reports, 255 people were killed and 155 others were injured in last night’s earthquake in the Gyan, Nuka, Barmal, and Zirok districts of Paktika province, while 25 people were killed and several others injured in Khost province.

The department has said that they have made effort to assist the victims of the incidents within the available facilities.
