KABUL (BBA): The Office of Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance of the United Nations (OCHA) announces $3.2 million in aid from the European Union for the people of Afghanistan.
OCHA stated on its X app page on Saturday that the amount has been assisted to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund in 2023 by the European Union.
OCHA says that this aid will empower humanitarian organizations to assist millions of needy individuals in Afghanistan.
OCHA announced the financial support to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund at a time when the United Nations expressed concerns about a humanitarian budget shortfall in Afghanistan this winter, stating that only a small portion of the requested budget for helping those in need in Afghanistan has been secured by donors.
