President Ahmadzai Meets MoI, KCP Chief, Leading Bodies

Kabul (BNA) Presided over by Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, a working session was held the other day related to security of Kabul city. In the session held with participation of national security advisor, minister of interior, MoI leading body and Kabul police chief, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan deeply praised ANP personnel for sacrifices towards maintaining peace and stability across of the country. President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan expressed concern over current security condition in Kabul city, instructing MoI towards maintaining security in Kabul and relevant districts of the province. The country’s President asserted that the government has serious will and determination for prevention of powerful individuals and high-ranking government officials’ interference in current efforts of ANP for the purpose of maintaining public order. The President also stressed on joint efforts between security organs and their professionalism for strengthening of coordination in various ANP steps.
In the session, it was decided that security threats of Kabul city should be soon assessed and particular strategy should be set up for maintaining security in the city based on the policy. In this regard, minister of interior was instructed to provide the presidential office his particular suggestions soon related to improvement of security in Kabul city. The session also stressed on reduction of current terrorist threats and threats caused by organized crimes in Kabul province. In the session, security advisor to President was tasked to review procedure of transporting weapons in coordination of MoI and take particular step related to numbering residential houses and streets of Kabul city with efforts of Kabul municipality. At the end of the session, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan once again asserted that he had no political family and anybody trying to make use of his address or presidential office as mediation in government affairs should be punished based on law.
