Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Sunday ordered the creation of a committee comprised of government figures and representatives of political parties to assess suggestions for transparent polls.
President Ghani issued the orders while chairing a high-level meeting at his office on Saturday evening, a statement from the Presidential Palace said. Timetable and conduct of the October elections were discussed.
Earlier, political parties had warned if the government, the electoral bodies and the international community did not accept their demands, Afghanistan would plunge into a major crisis.
