MoU Signed Between Afghanistan, Georgia

Kabul (BNA) Minister of National Defense met yesterday with Georgian Defense Minister here in Kabul.
In the meeting, both sides discussed on cooperation of the Georgian government with ANA and considered the cooperation as key and effective for strengthening of ANA forces.
Following the meeting, National Defense Minister Gen. Bismillah Mohammadi signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Georgian Defense Minister.
Based on the agreement, Georgia will help Afghanistan in various sectors such as equipment and training of ANA forces.
After signing the agreement, National Defense Minister stressed that Afghan security forces proved their patriotism during presidential elections and made serious efforts for security of the process.
In return, the Georgian Defense Minister informed of continuation of his country’s cooperation with Afghanistan, stressing that Georgia would continue its cooperation with Afghanistan in equipment and training of ANA beyond 2014.
