Khalili Chairs CM Meeting

Kabul (BNA) The Second Vice-President, Mohammad Karim Khalili chaired the Council of Ministers’ meeting at the Presidential Palace the other day.
Presidential press office stated BNA, at the outset of the meeting, the terrorist attack in Ghazni on Thursday which had claimed scores of lives was strongly condemned. The participants in the meeting besides offering prayers for the victims of the terrorist attack also hailed the security forces for killing the enemies.
Later on, the minister for public works who visited Ghazni as the head of investigating team, presented his report to the meeting and said that the suicide attack in addition to claiming the lives of people had also damaged series of government buildings including Ghazni museum, shops and residential houses at nearby, recommending the government to help affected people and ensure security there.
To assist the affected people and stabilize the security there in Ghazni, the Council of Ministers took the following decisions:
-Members of CM to give 25 percent of their salaries to the affected people.
-The ministries and government entities in harmony with the ministry for finance have to work to reconstruct and reactivate their provincial entities within the week in Ghazni.
-Government ought to assist the affected people and compensate the shops damaged due to the terrorist attack.
-The National Security Council (NSC) and security organs have to take necessary measures for ensuring security in Ghazni.
-National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) was assigned to call for national support and collecting aid for the affected people.
The minister for public works also said at the meeting that the Turkish-American company ECCI-C Metag GV had violated its commitment with regard to the construction of 233 km ring road Qaisar-Laman, saying the company is demanding cancelation of the agreement.
The Council of Ministers after comprehensive discussions with the ministers for public works, foreign affairs, interior, finance and concerned bodies to investigate the reason for violation of the agreement by the company and report to the next meeting of the CM. Transferring 3.5 acres land of the Zabul Municipality to ministry for information and culture to construct a library and Mir Wais Nika Research Center was approved in the meeting of CM and the ministry for information and culture was asked to prepare the map of the project and the finance ministry ought to fund the project through ministry for information and culture.
