President Ghani, EU Foreign Policy Chief Discuss Peace, Security In Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) On the sideline of Davos World Economic Forum, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with EU Foreign Policy Chief, Federica Mogherini here the other day, a statement from presidential press office said.
In this meeting, both sides discussed on proper opportunities for preparation of NATO ministers’ conference which is expected to be held on October 4-5 in Brussels and NATO summit in July in Warsaw.
Both sides discussed on access to progresses for holding of these conferences and emphasized on need of mobilization of resources for ensuring security and stability in Afghanistan for at least next four years, so through which Afghanistan find access to essential progresses and reforms and creation of effective economic infrastructures in the upcoming years.
Appreciating the efforts and strong pledges of the NUG leaders for bringing necessary reforms, the EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini termed implementation of reforms necessary for having a stable, democratic and successful future of Afghan people.
“Support of the Afghan government and people, is EU’s top priority and our commitments. We will be working on growth of government, reliable economy, creation of employment opportunities, refuges, women and children rights”, EU FP chief added.
Reciprocally appreciating EU’s financial assistance and technical supports for the Afghan people and government, president Ghani asked Mogherini to assist in building of at least one female dormitory in each Afghan province for the growth of Afghan women education, considering the Afghan society standards and principles.
The president also asked EU FP chief to pave the way for the few sub-meetings on investment opportunity in private sector and support of energy development in the sideline of Brussels conference.
Touching the phenomenon of insecurity, both sides emphasized that further concentration will be taken place on ensuring durable peace and security and this issue will be possible through regional dialogue and economic cooperation.
According to another report, president Ghani met representatives of different countries and in-charges of international organizations in Davos city of Switzerland.
President Ghani met Prof. Clause Schwab founder and chief executive of the World Economic Forum, chairman of US congress defense committee and Director of the WB separately.
In his second day of official visit to Swiss, beside the said meetings, the Afghan president attended two separate meetings of, “Response to humanitarian crisis and “2016 needs”.
In all these meetings, the president drew the attention of officials of international organizations and the world leaders to sacrifices of the Afghan people and asked them to cooperate for preventing of killing innocent people by terrorist groups and imposed war on Afghan people.
Touching Afghanistan economic developments, president Ghani said that investment opportunities are available in the country, and encouraged foreign investors to invest in different fields particularly in health and energy in Afghanistan.
