Poor Canalization System Behind Water Pollution

Kabul (BNA) The National Environment Protection Directorate has called the polluted drinking water a main problem faced by the citizens and said it had been emanated from lack of proper canalization in the country’s big cities.
In a statement released to mark the World Water Day, the body said that polluted water is a problem of the citizens in the country, adding lack of canalization and sewerage system in the cities is the reason of water pollution.
Poor quality septic wells, the presence of private health centers and building houses outside the master plan and lack of green areas, using fertilizer and lack of awareness about clean environment are the reason for pollution, the statement said.
The statement also called upon the citizens to be economic and avoid spending water unnecessarily.
