CE, Turkmenistan President Exchange Views On Bilateral Relations

Kabul (BNA) Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in meeting with Turkmenistan president Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov here the other day exchanged views on matters pertaining mutual interests including relations between the two countries and boosting cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture, sport, fighting drug and security.
Describing Afghanistan and Turkmenistan relations as friendly and historic, the chief executive pointed out that the visit of president would farther get closer the two neighboring states. Thanking the people and government of Afghanistan for extending warm welcome and hospitality, the Turkmenistan president emphasized for utilizing opportunities.
The president said that work on TAPI project for extension of pipeline from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, Pakistan and onward to India would begin in December this year and hoped that Afghan government to provide security for big projects. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov also said that his government can help Afghanistan in building railways, motorways, fuel and energy sector as well as peace process. Turkmenistan president who visited Afghanistan on Thursday and also held meeting with president Ghani, invited Afghanistan leaders to attend the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan neutrality in December this year.
