Acting Minister Omari and Uzbekistan’s Water Resources Minister Discuss Cooperation

KABUL (BNA): Mawlavi Ataaullah Omari, the Acting Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, held a meeting with Mr. Khamraev Shavkat Rakhimovich, the Minister of Water Resources of Uzbekistan.

The meeting took place at the ARG Palace in Kabul, as part of the high-ranking delegation from Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, Mr. Rakhimovich expressed that any progress in Afghanistan is a source of joy for both the government and people of Uzbekistan.

He affirmed Uzbekistan’s readiness for cooperation in the construction of the Khosh Tepa Canal project, emphasizing that they view Afghanistan as a valuable partner.

Mr. Rakhimovich also highlighted Uzbekistan’s experience in the production of tools and equipment for the construction of dams, canalization, agriculture, irrigation, and regional water management. He expressed readiness to collaborate with Afghanistan in these areas.

In response, Mawlavi Ataaullah Omari expressed gratitude for Uzbekistan’s assistance and collaboration. He noted that the establishment of the Islamic Emirate has ensured overall security, paving the way for cooperation in various fields between Afghanistan and all countries, especially neighboring ones.

Omari further stated that Afghanistan seeks to leverage Uzbekistan’s experiences in various areas and is keen on increasing collaboration in electricity generation, agricultural development, water management, and other sectors.
