Acting Foreign Minister Engages in Constructive Dialogue with Turkmenistan’s National Leader

KABUL (BNA): Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, recently held a meeting with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan, in Ashgabat.
Hafez Zia Ahmad Takal, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared on his social media handle that during the meeting, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi briefed Berdimuhamedov about the security, stability, and new opportunities for investment and transit in Afghanistan. He expressed gratitude for Berdimuhamedov’s special attention towards expanding positive cooperation and relations with Afghanistan.
Muttaqi noted that the two countries have made significant progress in various fields. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed complete confidence in the Afghanistan region and emphasized the importance of transferring gas and electricity to Afghanistan. He also mentioned efforts towards the extension of the railway line.
Berdimuhamedov regarded the upcoming exhibition of Afghanistan’s assets in Ashgabat as significant and historical, emphasizing optimal utilization by both sides. He pledged to facilitate trade in various sectors with Afghanistan. Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, who has traveled to Turkmenistan, has so far held meetings with several high-ranking officials of the country to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation.
