Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev as the president-elect of the neighboring Uzbekistan, said his office in a statement.
“On behalf of the government and people of Afghanistan, I want to extend my deep congratulation for the victory of Shavkat Mirziyoyev as the Uzbek president-elect and hope the people under his leadership could reach prosperity and welfare,” the statement quoted. The statement quoted him as saying that Mirziyoyev as new leader, could do his best to strengthen ties between the two countries, particularly in the fields of economy, trade and transit.
