Fighting Daesh Needs Global Efforts: Atmar

Kabul (BNA) Presidential Advisor on National Security, Mohammad Hanif Atmar who met the Turkish General Secretary of National Security Council, Saifullah Hashim Oghlo in Ankara the other day, pointed out that fighting Daesh outfit requires regional and global cooperation.
In the meeting, matters pertaining relations between the two countries, war on terror and continued military cooperation of Turkey with Afghanistan within the framework of NATO-led Resolute Support came under discussion.
Thanking Turkey for its support to Afghanistan, Atmar said that Afghanistan has recently joined the world coalition against Daesh and added that the terrorist outfit poses threat to Afghanistan, region and the world.
“As a victim of terrorism, Afghanistan regards Daesh as serious threat to the region and the world,” Atmar said, adding the Afghan security forces have been chasing Daesh fighters since last year and have eliminated Daesh insurgents including their key leaders.
The Turksih dignitary, however, assured his country’s continued support in several fields including economy, education, and security, besides backing Afghan government’s war against Daesh and other terrorist groups.
General Secretary of National Security Council of Turkey, Saifullah Hashim Oghlo also accepted the invitation to visit Afghanistan in near future.
