Elimination of Violence Against Women Needs Public Efforts

Kabul (BNA) In Latin America, as of 1960 to date, November 25 is celebrated as the ‘World Day of Elimination of Violence against Women’ as well as to commemorate the barbaric killing of three sisters for the sin of political activities against dictatorship, tyranny and violence occurred in the Republic of Dumilin. These three women were the symbol and sample of resistance against violence and struggle for freedom and respect to human rights. Since the same day, for distinguishing of violence against women, the day is recognized officially as the day of removal of violence against women world-wide. In December 17, 1999, the UN General Assembly proclaimed Nov. 25th as anniversary of assassination of Ms. Patria Monrovia, Maria Teresa, and Rail Mirabel as the world day of negation of violence against women and as of that date, annually, those who oppose violence against women world-wide gather around each other so to flay violence against women.
Celebration of this day is an opportunity to review on achievements gained as a result of activities and efforts made on the same occasion. So far, 89 countries of the world amended their judicial laws were linked in a manner with family disputes and from among them, 60 world nations studied the related laws and approved them. Considering 2002 that only 45 countries of the world were enjoying from such law, it is a considerable development. Despite such narrations and sorrows about victimizing by this phenomenon, instead of reduction, violence has been increasing in our society. Because, of poverty and illiteracy, in contradiction of Islamic sharia, violence against women in taken place. One of activists in civil society, Ibn-i-Amin Assadi in connection with violence believes that Islam is the religion of moderate, equality and convergence and condemns every kind of violence.
Beside men, women also enjoying from equal rights and privileges. Discrimination causes violence. As a young student, he continued that I respect and honor November 25th and am in favor of stoppage of all sorts of violence. In Islamic country, men and women are possessing equal rights, but because of illiteracy and poverty and having no awareness about Islamic Sharia, the women rights are violating. Assadi detailed that we are optimist about celebration of November 25th and demand from related organs to permit women to play their role in the society. The in charge of Sico Course at the ministry of women affairs Ms. Farkhunda Ihsanyar has said in the connection that violence is a dirty word.
Those who are illiterate and are not aware about Islamic Sharia are committing violence against women. Ihsanyar added that when I was 16, I felt difference among myself and brethren. It was a lesson taught us by our parents. She added that our dwelling and means of subsistence were differed. Our brothers were encouraging. I promoted my school years with problems. I was preventing time and again not to go to school. I knew my presence in family of father is provisionally not permanently, so, no one has invested on me. I comprehend violence did its work. I thought how to fight against it, Stated Ms. Ihsanyar. She asserted that I selected the way of education and now, I am in one of private universities and also learnt English language and computer science as well as in the light of knowledge I fight against women violence. She added. Ms. Ihsanyar told that once more I pay respect to world day of eradication of violence against women and addressing all youths especially women youths, my message is this to continue their education, work in the society to be relying on their own. Fight against compulsory marriages, self-immolation and verbal disputes in work place and day life at home, because, the figures released by reliable resources indicate that about 62percent of Afghan women are suffering from family violence.
