Senate Supports Decree Of President Karzai

Kabul (BNA) The Senate in its yesterday’s meeting supported the recent decree of President Karzai and emphasized that the proposals of the senate in relations to the mechanism for the implantation of the decree should be shared with the president.
Chaired by Fazle Hadi Muslimyar chairman of the senate Hafiz Abdul Qayum head of the legislative, judicial and legal commission of the senate provided information about the president’s decree and said that at this decree request is made of the National Assembly to exert all efforts for carrying its responsibilities taking into account the national high interests of the people of Afghanistan, give priority to the logical proposals of the government and meanwhile supervise the activities of the government and adopt the draft regulations and legislative decree of the government in the coming four and half months.
The senators expressed their all out support to the decree and said that the law enforcement organs are deeply involved in corruption, the accused files are not addressed and the attorneys by taking bribes accuse the innocent people.
They said that currently hundreds of prisoners are kept in the country’s prisons while their cases followed up legally and in other instance there are no reliable documents pertaining to their arrest and the ground for their punishment.
But these organs lack the ability to apprehend the powerful and ensure legality against their violations.
